Lion House at Temple Square on Salt Lake City Tour

The Lion House, a family home of Brigham Young's, was built in 1856 just east of Main Street in Salt Lake City. Brigham was both the leader of the Mormon church and the first governor of the territory of Utah. Named after the lion statue above the front entryway, Brigham Young was known as "the Lion of the Lord." The home is filled with antique furniture and is used for receptions and public dining.
